A five-year-old dog named Tessy from a Delaware shelter was adopted after spending over 1,000 days there. Tessy, a black Labrador mix, was adopted by Jeanine Porter and Jeff Bush. Tessy had been the longest resident in the shelter and was adopted after her new owners saw her photo at an adoption event.
Despite behavioral issues, Tessy has overcome her fears and is now described as a loyal and playful dog. Her new owners are excited to bring her home and have prepared toys and treats for her. The shelter staff had cared for Tessy for nearly three years and bid her a bittersweet goodbye.
